A client came to GlobalThinking asking for an update on their logo. No biggie, right? The catch: It needed to be done by COB that day. Plus revisions were needed.
Vacuum Expressions

May, 19 2009 — 1834 hits
My final 3D modeling project was to give an inanimate object six expressions. This is how they turned out. I used joints in Maya to model the different expressions, making the process much easier.
THIS IS PRINT

May, 16 2009 — 103 hits
A book that was created by Dan Casazza and I for a print production class. We used imagery taken by a previous class since the goal of the project was only to build a standards-compliant InDesign file, print, and bind the book.

Easily the largest project I've tackled in college. This was an integrated marketing campaign for the Open Publishing Lab at RIT for a social networking game they devised. Three of us tackled this with full force and it looks like they'll be using our marketing materials for years to come.
3D Classroom

Apr, 1 2009 — 395 hits
My first 3D project dealing with polygons and lighting. My concept for this was to be a bit more mysterious, but I ran out of time to go back through and really refine the lighting and objects.
3D Abstract Sculpture

Mar, 25 2009 — 397 hits
A beginner's project demonstrating the use of NURBS and patching objects together. I debated even putting this project on my website, but I figured it was the only thing I have that really gives an idea of what NURBS can do.
CD Insert - Jon Moyer
category(s): design, print, marketing
Mar, 19 2009 — 203 hits
Jon needed a quick CD insert to give out at his shows, so I worked with him to develop this. He had already designed his logo, so I used that as a base for my design and tried giving the style an organic appeal.

This was a collaboration with photojournalism students, the Children Awaiting Parents (CAP) organization, and my team in my capstone course. The website is an attempt to raise awareness of children in the foster care system and some of their stories.

In my capstone course, my team created an instructional booklet to help middle-school children learn about screen printing. We concepted the book from beginning to end and created a full plan of expenses for materials and other organizational issues.
Political Battle #2
category(s): web, design, interactive
Feb, 27 2008 — 217 hits
An updated representation of my first political battle creation with a different game play style. Some game play elements have been sadly removed (H-bombs and munching heads), though the concept has been tweaked and refined.
Happy Holidays

Jan, 13 2008 — 113 hits
This is an interactive holiday card programmed in AS3. It was my first project in AS3, so the coding component is very simple. Since the coding was easy, I was able to give more focus on the design and concept. Make sure to check out the credits page! (I thought I was clever)
Performance Fabrication Works

Jun, 15 2007 — 2357 hits
A freelance project for a friend who started his own custom motorcycle parts company. This was my first full web design and build for anything outside of school, so it's very simple. In addition to the website, I created stickers, t-shirts, and business card designs for him.
Cute Little Critters
category(s): design, web, interactive
Apr, 19 2007 — 196 hits
This was the first project of my 2nd ActionScript programming course. It serves little purpose, but was pretty fun to build. I kept the design a little unrefined and grungy since it's fairly easy to achieve that effect and I was focusing mostly on the code for the project.
Lateralus

Feb, 22 2007 — 304 hits
As a final project for my design course, we were to visually represent a song in the form of a poster. I'm a big fan of music, so I naturally had multiple songs in mind. So, I decided to create three. This one is by Tool and was ultimately the one I submitted.

As a final project for my design course, we were to visually represent a song in the form of a poster. I'm a big fan of music, so I naturally had multiple songs in mind. So, I decided to create three. This one is by the instrumental band A Silver Mt. Zion.

Fictitious V-Day Party

Feb, 1 2007 — 410 hits
The design of this invitation was based on a number of situational characteristics that were provided to my class. I wanted to avoid a comlplete traditional rectangular single-folded card, so I came up with a slight hybrid that is unique, yet easily mailable.
Ernie's Elephant Expulsion

Jan, 16 2007 — 453 hits
For this project I first developed a fictional company, complete with target audience and environment characteristics. With that information, I designed this logo to match it as best as possible.
Gestalt Principles

Jan, 1 2007 — 251 hits
This was my first assignment in my 2nd year design course. It started as a pencil sketch and was then scanned and vectorized. I tried using as many principles that fit, including similarity, continuation, and closure.
Political Battle #1
category(s): web, design, interactive
Nov, 14 2006 — 73 hits
The original political battle game I created in my first ActionScript 2.0 course. It's fairly rudimentary, though I felt that the idea behind it was the best part. PS: Don't get hit by the H-bomb
Experimental Video Editing

May, 23 2006 — 107 hits
I needed a short clip for a class to demonstrate video editing ability. This project is nothing amazing, and I mostly used it as a fun way to synchronize music and video.
The Five Senses
category(s): photography, print
May, 13 2006 — 758 hits
As a final project in my first year, I had to produce five images that related to each other. My Solution: a macro lens and the five senses. Quite a fun project. Maybe a little gross at times.
Panorama Assignment

May, 6 2006 — 227 hits
I Shot two panoramas with a Canon 20D and 18-55mm lens. The assignment was for one to be an abstract piece, while the other was a standard rectangle. Once stitched and retouched in Photoshop, we printed them on wide format inkjets and RGB laser printers.
Pirate Ship Sketch
category(s): drawings
Mar, 30 2006 — 385 hits
The last of my drawing attempts. I completed this during my first year of RIT. A friend was thinking about getting a tattoo of a pirate ship on their side, so I began sketching up an idea and it took off from there.
Press Run
category(s): print
Jan, 24 2006 — 210 hits
In my first year at RIT my class was fortunate enough to have a press run on a Heidelberg 6-color press. We produced the project from concept to finishing. I took the photos and did the concept and layout. From there our entire class participated in plate making, registration, and calibration.
PostScript® Experiment
category(s): print
Dec, 14 2005 — 76 hits
In my first year at RIT we learned to code directly in PostScript to provide a solid foundation of printing technology. While I probably will never write PS again, it was enlightening to understand just how the printing language is broken down. Fun to some. Less fun to others.
Frog & Spider

May, 16 2005 — 244 hits
I managed to capture this on my pool deck, though I admit I helped compose the image. I scooped the spider off my pool cover (not with my hands) and placed it right in front of the spider. Then the weirdest thing happened.. neither moved!
Skateboard Falls
category(s): video, fun
Apr, 6 2005 — 87 hits
A compilation video of friends (and me) falling off skateboards that I made in 2005. This is more of an excuse to watch my friends and me hurt ourselves than it is a display of my editing capabilities. I just like coordinating video to music.
Spider Sketch

Probably took the longest of all my drawings. Those little hairs are a bugger. I sat there for hours with a sharp pencil and an even sharper eraser.

I'm not sure where the inspiration for this drawing came from. I had a weird mind.
Dead Tree Sketch

Part of a handful of drawings I did back in high school in my free time. This was the first drawing I did that spurred this series. Inspiration came from a tree on a hill I often passed in my hometown.

Looks much better in person. Or if I had better equipment to digitize it with.
